Built around
opportunity.

Scott Banks understands property from the ground up. His career began on construction sites, before moving into real estate in 1985 and business ownership at 24.

Scott bought his first real estate office in 1988, aged 24. He has led Scott Banks Real Estate Group as founder and Managing Director since December that year, building a business spanning sales, leasing, property management, auctioneering and project marketing, with long-standing clients at its heart.

His experience is also personal: buying and selling more than 50 properties, bringing investors together for property investments, and improving assets through renovation, presentation and repositioning.

Today, that practical foundation informs his work across accommodation, marketing and emerging business models—and his interest in capital partnerships and enterprises capable of creating enduring value.

Professional standards

Earn the trust

Experience means little unless people can rely on your judgement, your word and the way you conduct yourself. I believe trust is earned through honest advice, clear communication, transparency and doing what you said you would do.

How I approach
opportunity.

01

See the opportunity

I look beyond the existing use, structure or convention to identify unrealised potential.

02

Understand the value

I examine the commercial fundamentals, the customer, the risks and what must change to improve the outcome.

03

Build the model

I bring property, capital, operations, presentation, technology and people together around a coherent strategy.

04

Follow through

Ideas only create value when they are executed, measured and continually improved.

Experience is most valuable when it points forward.

What comes
next.

I'm interested in opportunities where experience, capital, property, operations and new thinking can be brought together to create something more valuable.

This may involve developing a new model, improving an existing business, assembling complementary operations, repositioning an asset or partnering with people who bring capital, capability or opportunity.

  • Property-backed recurring-income models
  • Housing and accommodation at scale
  • Capital raising and investment partnerships
  • Business acquisitions and amalgamations
  • Operating businesses with recurring earnings
  • Brand creation and commercial repositioning
  • Technology and AI-enabled operations
  • Australian and international opportunities

The thinking
behind the work.

A personal reflection

Why I’m still building

On possibility, focus and the continuing work of becoming.

I have always believed that a property, a business, an idea or a person can become more than they are today. There is experience behind me, but there is still work to do.

Scott Banks with his family
With my family, 2022.

Family, coaching and the commitment to keep getting better.

Life with Gina and our three children is central to who I am. Coaching at Prahran Junior Football Club has also been one of my most rewarding experiences: helping young people develop their skills, build confidence and learn to contribute to a team.

The lesson carries across both sport and business. Progress comes from preparation, practice and the willingness to keep learning. I try to live that example myself.

“If you do it, you might as well give it your best.”
